About Us

Who we are

GCF is an autonomous non-profit charitable institution that aims to promote development related to multidisciplinary research. Its mission is to contribute to the socio-economic development of Sri Lanka and other low-income and middle-income countries through informed, independent, high-quality research.

Sri Lanka is currently experiencing an unprecedented socio-economic challenge, with a looming threat of escalation into an unbridled political situation.

The Sri Lanka Innovators’ Forum (SLIF) is intended to be honest, intellectually complimenting and a timely discourse of ideas and thoughts exchanged between like-minded subject specialists. These experts are invited from all over the world under the common premise of uplifting Sri Lanka from the deep multifaceted conundrums that the country is facing.

GCF which fits in the role of a Civil Society Organisation will go beyond the borders to connect with like-minded experts, industry heads, and academics in the selected fields of expertise, engaging them in constructive discourse to identify issues in their respective sectors and find sustainable solutions to them. The Gamani Corea Foundation, therefore thought it opportune, as a tribute to its founder, to provide a facility for systematic consultation between expats and Sri Lankan professionals/academics.

There are many platforms that are available that cater towards innovative ideas, however, most of these platforms have been identified as slanted, taking up on a few agendas, focusing on just one subject matter, or rather isolated to an explicit geo-location.

The Sri Lanka innovators forum has moved away from this common norm and has found refuge under a broader perspective, where it covers a plethora of subject matter guided by some of the top experts both locally and internationally, who have excelled in their respective fields of expertise they will act as the Advisory Group. To facilitate effective communication and sharing of knowledge, registrants would be requested to select a sector or a group with symbiotic links governed by the advisory group.
